See the step by step demo of this fun texture rubbing art lesson.
Make a texture turkey for a cute Thanksgiving craft or activity.
Start with a turkey drawing. The Turkey Drawing set will make this a breeze. The best thing about these drawing pages is that every turkey will be a little different! I did this drawing on 90# drawing paper, which works best for any water technique.
Add a texture rubbing. I used some chunky crayons and a file folder texture plate that I made.
(Click on the links for more instructions.)
I think it looks best to use light colors for the texture rubbing and darker colors for the marker outlines.
Outline each shape with a washable marker (even the areas where you made the texture rubbings).
I like repeating 3-4 main colors.
Here is a video of the next step, which is adding water over the marker lines.
Add plain water over the marker lines, this will make the colors bleed into the center and will make your turkey look like it was painted with watercolors!
